A man with a crowbar robbed a driver on Friday morning
Translink have offered a £1,000 reward for information that leads to the conviction of a man who robbed a bus driver in West Belfast this morning.
The public transport provider has made the reward offer following an incident in the Lagmore Avenue area shortly before 5am on Friday, January 9, when a man in dark clothing armed with a crowbar stole of sum of cash off of a bus driver who was parked at the time.
A Translink spokesperson said: “We completely condemn this incident.

“The safety of our customers, staff and the wider public is our top priority at all times.
“Our staff member is being offered a range of supports and we are assisting the PSNI with their investigation, including provision of CCTV from the bus.
“We also offer a reward of up to £1,000 for anyone prepared to give evidence which leads to a conviction.”
West Belfast MLA Danny Baker issued an appeal for information following the incident asking people to come forward to the police.
He said: “Folks, just before 6 a.m. this morning, a man dressed all in black robbed a bus driver as he parked in the Hazel area of Lagmore.
“I am working with Translink and want to send my solidarity to the driver. No one should be subjected to this while working.
“This is a vital service for our community that could be impacted. I have worked for many years to bring full service to this part of Lagmore.
“Anyone who has cameras or saw anything this morning, please come forward to the police.”
Detective Sergeant Stevenson said: “It was reported that shortly before 5am, a bus driver on a parked bus was approached by a man armed with a crowbar. The suspect made off with a sum of cash in the direction of White Rise.
“He was described as being between 5′ 8” and 6′ tall and of average build, wearing black bottoms and a black hooded top with a white logo on the chest, with only his eyes visible.
“Our enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information, including dashcam, CCTV or other video footage, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 118 of 9/1/26.
