The Haribo store at Ashford Designer Outlet is to close its doors for weeks as it undergoes a refurbishment.

The confectionery giant opened its first shop in the county at the McArthurGlen-owned centre in 2019.

Haribo has confirmed its Ashford store will be closed for more than two weeks

Now, Haribo has confirmed the unit will be shut from Wednesday, January 21 to Monday, February 9, spanning two-and-a-half weeks.

Bosses say the improvements will “bring even more joy”, with the introduction of digital screens and more “international treats”.

Rebecca Fox, the company’s head of retail, said: “As part of our continued investment across the UK, a refurbishment programme will be taking place this year in Haribo stores across the county, including at our store in Ashford.

“To deliver the reimagined and redesigned store, Haribo Ashford will be closed from Wednesday, January 21, and we can’t wait to reopen our doors for customers on Monday, February 9.”

The Designer Outlet shop was the county’s only Haribo store for more than five years, until the business expanded last year.

The company opened a branch at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Greenhithe in February.

Haribo currently has 13 stores across the UK and opened its first factory in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, more than 40 years ago.
