Six fire engines attended the scene
The cause of a fire at a derelict building in Canterbury is being investigated as suspicious. The incident happened on January 2 on St Julien Avenue.
Crews advised residents in the area to keep windows and doors closed due to a large amount of smoke coming from the fire.
At the height of the fire, there were six fire engines, a height vehicle and a bulk water carrier at the scene.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, before making sure there was no remaining hotspots.
A Kent Fire and Rescue service spokesperson said: “The KFRS Volunteer Response Team attended last night to provide welfare to crews.
“Kent Police also attended to make sure the area is safe.”
There were no reported injuries and the cause is believe to be suspicious.
