Beverley Iredia, from Clarkston, welcomed her first daughter, Ameze, with the support of her husband, Omo Iredia, on December 25, 2025.

Little Ameze was born at 1.55am, weighing exactly 7lbs at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow’s Southside.

The couple say they are made up and can’t wait to take Ameze home to her big brother Naruna, who is three years old.

Beverley commented: “It’s really exciting, it was just my husband and me during the delivery. It would have been nice to have been with family today as we’re still in hospital, but it’s such a blessing.

“She is the best present ever. I just can’t wait to get home and have family come over to visit her.

“Our little princess born on Christmas Day.”

Beverley moved to Glasgow from London four years ago after meeting her now husband, Omo.

She explained that she was initially due to give birth on Monday, December 22; however, Ameze “decided to wait”.

After attending the QEUH on Christmas Eve, the mum-of-two says her labour was “very quick”.

Beverley added: “I’m recovering well. She was actually due on Monday, but she decided to wait until today.

“It was quick. I was four centimetres dilated, and the hospital staff said ‘it could take some time’.

“So, I was wondering if I should go home, and they said, ‘no just stay, and we’ll see what happens’.

“Within an hour, my contractions were three minutes apart, and within the next hour, I was pushing. It happened really quickly.

“This is our second child, we have a three and a half year old son, Naruna. It feels magical.”

Meanwhile, Paisley mum, Rianna Alexander, 31, and dad, Craig Robertson, 30, also celebrated the birth of their baby girl, Esme, on Christmas Day.

The adorable tot is the couple’s first child and was born at 2.14am, weighing 7lbs and 13oz at the Royal Alexandra Hospital maternity unit.

Craig stated that he can’t wait to spend time with his daughter and is proud of his partner, Rianna.

He said: “It’s exciting. We’re so happy and proud. Rianna was in labour for roughly 24 hours. We were so excited [when they discovered Rianna was pregnant], and all the grandparents were excited.

“There will be a long line of family wanting to visit her. I can’t wait to spend time with her and watch how she develops.

    “It’s special.”
