Belfast City Council has announced the changes to bin and recycling collection dates across the Christmas and New Year period. The Council said their festive waste collection team will be “aiming to keep the service as efficient as possible” over the festive period.

There will be changes to collection dates for black, brown and blue bins, as well as purple glass box collections and wheelie boxes. There will also be changes to opening hours for all recycling centres.

The public have been asked to put bins and boxes out by 7am and return by 8pm, to keep lids closed as overfilled bins won’t be emptied. Additionally, people have been reminded not to leave extra bags beside bins, and to add your house number to your bin.
