We are now well and truly in the season of Christmas markets and winter walks to get us in the festive mood. And, luckily for us, Kent has plenty to offer.

Families can enjoy a magical day out at Christmas at Bewl Water this Christmas. The attraction, near Tunbridge Wells, kicked off its popular festive event in November and I couldn’t wait to take my four-year-old.

The event allows children to, not only, meet Father Christmas in his grotto, but also partake in a host of fun seasonal activities. Running until Christmas Eve, youngsters get to go on a quest to save Christmas cheer during this magical three-hour immersive experience.

Soon after arriving, cheerful elves guide families to a hidden grotto where Father Christmas is waiting to greet them. But, unlike other grotto experiences, the fun doesn’t end there.

After chatting to the big man himself, the children are given a magical Christmas key by Santa which they have to charge with cheer. They then meander through a mystical wooded trail, with white frosted Christmas trees in every direction, before heading on their quest.

Each area you go into on the quest is linked to the key and youngsters have to spread the Christmas cheer into their key so that it can get exchanged for a present at the end. The quest involves helping at the Cheer Command Centre, making toys in the Elves’ Workshop, biscuit decorating in Mrs Claus’ Bakery, making reindeer food in Prancer’s Pantry, and sending a letter to the North Pole in Dash’s Post Office.

There’s also a festive play area, live performances, and plenty of enchanting photo opportunities. All that’s left after all the excitement is for youngsters to take their key and exchange it for a toy in the Toy Exchange now that it’s fully charged with cheer.

Families can then take a breather and savour festive delights at Santa’s Coffee Cabin or Santa’s Sweet Shoppe. Here you can also toast yummy marshmallows (£2 each).

There’s also lots of places to eat and drink including a burger shack, a donuts and waffles cabin, and more. Tickets are on sale and there is some availability left.

Adult tickets are £15-£25, child tickets are £40-£60, and under ones are free if they are not receiving a gift. Free parking is included in your ticket.

This was one of the best days we’ve had for a Christmas day out; there’s was so much to do for all ages. It really was so magical and I would highly recommend having a look at this place if you’re after some magical, festive fun this Christmas.
