Thieves stole a safe from a home after smashing the back door to gain entry and damaging the alarm system to avoid detection.

Police were called on Thursday evening, December 11, following the break-in at the home in the Bracken Hall area of Portadown.

A police spokesperson said: “It was reported to police around 9:00pm that a house had been broken into in the Bracken Hall area.

“It is believed that entry had been gained through smashing the window of the back door before an alarm box was damaged to stop any alert being raised.

“It has been established that a safe has been stolen from the property. This is thought to have happened between 5:00pm and 5:45pm.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything, or who may have relevant dash-cam, doorbell or other video footage to get in contact with officers on 101, quoting reference 1467 11/12/25.”
