Amey, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, announced that the M77 southbound at Junction 2 on-slip would shut for repairs.
This comes as part of plans for “essential patching” from 10pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, until 6am the following day.
This work, taking place near the busy Silverburn area, will not only see an overnight closure of the on-slip, but also a single lane closure along the southbound M77 carriageway by Junction 2.
To minimise disruption, a diversion route will be put in place.
Vehicles looking to access the Junction 2 southbound on-slip will be rerouted via Fairchild Avenue to join the northbound M77, before continuing to the Junction 1 off-slip and following Dumbreck Road to rejoin the southbound M77 at Junction 1.
Despite the closures, emergency service vehicles will still be able to pass through the affected areas during the course of the works.
Amey has warned that all scheduled works are subject to weather conditions and may be postponed or rescheduled should the weather prove unfavourable.
The firm has expressed gratitude to road users for their patience and cooperation during the course of the necessary works, emphasising the benefits the scheme will bring.
Once complete, the works are expected to improve the safety and overall condition of the carriageway in the area, benefitting the numerous vehicles that use the route daily.
