Gillingham’s weekend opponents have sacked their head coach ahead of the visit to Priestfield.
Saturday’s visitors Barrow have parted company with boss Andy Whing and his assistant Craig Pead after a poor run of form.

Whing has been in charge for less than a year at Barrow after he replaced former Gills boss Stephen Clemence at the helm.
Barrow head to ME7 without a win in six league games and off he back of a 3-0 home loss to Tranmere on Tuesday night, which left them sitting 18th in the table.
Whing bemoaned his side’s cutting edge in attack after that defeat.
He said: “We put some fantastic balls into the box, we got into good areas again, but we don’t score enough goals in terms of our attacking players,”
Barrow chairman Paul Hornby, speaking after his decision on Wednesday, said “We have taken the decision to part company with Andy Whing and Craig Pead with immediate effect.
“This is not a decision we have taken lightly.
League 2 table;
“After careful consideration, we feel that our current league position does not reflect the quality and the investment that has been put into the squad that we have assembled.
“We believe that making a change at this stage of the season gives us the best possible chance to begin climbing the league table.”
Experienced coach Neil McDonald, who only recently joined the club at the end of November, has been placed in interim charge ahead of their trip to Kent.
McDonald, 60, helped steer the Bluebirds to safety in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons and it’s hoped he can have a similar impact this time around.
Gillingham are hoping to end a poor run of form at Priestfield when they host Barrow. It’s three months since the Gills last won at home.
The Gills, meanwhile, have confirmed that their home clash with MK Dons, scheduled for Saturday, January 10 has been postponed due to the visiting team being in the third round of the FA Cup. A new date will be scheduled.
