The victim was threatened, bound and punched while his home was ransacked
Three men have been sentenced following a knifepoint robbery in an Ashford home. On Saturday, July 20 2024 at around 3am, the men broke into the residential address where the victim had fallen asleep on the sofa in the living room.
He awoke to a man standing over him brandishing a knife. The victim was threatened and punched as the two other men ransacked the house.
During the ordeal, the victim’s hands were bound and he was repeatedly interrogated for the location of valuables. Despite his injuries, the man was able to flee the home while the perpetrators’ backs were turned.
Soon after, the thieves left the scene in the victim’s car. Items stolen from the property included multiple pieces of designer clothing, jewellery, a small quantity of cash and the victim’s mobile phone.
Kent Police launched an investigation into the incident and enquiries identified the suspects’ car travelling from East London into Kent in the early hours of July 20. Following the robbery, the suspects were tracked returning to London where the vehicle ended its journey at around 4am.
Officers attended the victim’s property and located a rucksack which was left behind by the thieves. It contained a black leather knife sheath and a screwdriver, both of which were seized and sent for forensic examination.
Four men were subsequently arrested in connection with the crime and brought back into Kent for questioning. They were remanded in custody, and multiple charges including assault, false imprisonment, possession of a weapon and burglary were subsequently brought against:
- Sukhjeevan Singh, 27, of Gascoyne Road, London.
- Luca Gentry-Prosper, 19, of Ash House, London.
- Adheem Misson, 20, of Telscombe Cliffs Way in Peacehaven, East Sussex.
The fourth man was de-arrested after it was established that he was not involved. All three defendants pleaded guilty to the offences and appeared before Canterbury Crown Court in December 2025.
On Tuesday, December 2, Gentry-Prosper and Misson were each sentenced to six years’ imprisonment. The following day Singh received a two-year suspended sentence.
Detective Constable Casey Prior said: “This was a violent attack which left the victim injured and feeling unsafe in his own home. Thanks to detailed investigative work, including forensic analysis and vehicle tracking, we were able to arrest those responsible and bring them to justice.”
