Kent seam bowler George Garrett has retired from professional cricket at the conclusion of their 2025 season.
Right-armer Garrett joined in October 2023 and took just 39 wickets in 23 appearances across two summers.

He has now decided to retire from the sport and will take up a law conversion course.
The 25-year-old said: “I’d like to thank everyone at Kent for giving me an opportunity and a warm welcome – something I’ll always be grateful for.
“There are a lot of amazing people in the building, many of whom I now consider great friends.
“I have total faith in them all driving Kent back to where it belongs in the years to come.
“A special mention to (second-team coach) Mark Dekker – one of the great men who gave me a shot when nobody else did.”

Garrett came through the Warwickshire pathway from under-14s level after playing age-group cricket for Hertfordshire and made his first-class bow for the Bears in August 2019.
His final Kent came in this month’s rain-ridden County Championship Division 2 draw at champions Leicestershire as they finished bottom in head coach Adam Hollioake’s first campaign at the helm with just two red-ball victories all summer.
All-rounder Mo Rizvi and batting all-rounder Marcus O’Riordan have also made their Kent exits.
Pembury-born Academy graduate O’Riordan made his Kent debut in 2019 and struck a second-innings 102 not out against a Sri Lanka Cricket Development XI – his maiden first-class century – in May 2022.
Rizvi, also 27, played six appearances in the One-Day Cup and one County Championship Division 2 match against Lancashire in early September at Canterbury.
Fast bowler Nathan Gilchrist is moving on, as well, joining Warwickshire on a three-year contract.
A club spokesman said: “We thank George, Nathan, Marcus and Mo for their service to the Club, and wish them all the best for the future.
“They will all always be welcome back at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.”
Kent will hold their end-of-season dinner at Canterbury’s Spitfire Ground tonight.
