Newick is in the Lewes district of East Sussex, about six miles east of Haywards Heath.
It has various historic buildings, some great pubs, and is even home to a famous face you will definitely recognise.

History of the Sussex village of Newick
Newick was a dispersed settlement until the Second World War, which was when many more houses were built around Newick Green.
The village is home to a historic church, St. Mary’s, which dates back to the Victorian era and still has a Norman window.
There was the Zion Chapel too, which has since been converted into residential accommodation.
Newick also has its King George’s Field, which is a memorial to King George V.
Things to do in Newick
As the parish council says, the village boasts shops in a “variety of styles and ages”.
The village also has a health centre, community centre, modern primary school, and a large village hall.
There are three pubs, a Tandoori restaurant and a café.
The Crown Inn, The Royal Oak, and The Bull Inn, all have positive reviews and ratings from visitors.
If you wish to venture out of the village, there is the nearby market town of Uckfield.
This “attractive” market town in Sussex was recently named one of the best places to retire.
Visit South East England says Uckfield combines “classic values of strong community spirit and friendliness with all the modern necessities of life”.
It says: “The town centre has a large variety of retail outlets, including two supermarkets, banks, a cinema and a leisure centre with a swimming pool.
“There is a good selection of small specialist shops, antique shops and eateries – a good way of seeking out those local specialities or a special reminder of the area to take home.
“Towards the bottom of the town, on the banks of the River Uck is an attractive pedestrianised shopping area, Bell Walk, which includes a café/restaurant.”
From a stunning garden formed through centuries of landscape design to iconic bridges and the mirror-like lakes, there are great views to take in.
The famous face that lives in Newick
ITV and broadcast star Piers Morgan is also from the village and is known to visit.
Born in Surrey, his family moved to Newick just a few months later.
He went to school at the Cumnor House prep school in Haywards Heath and then later Chailey School and Priory School in Lewes.
As well as being the former editor of the Daily Mirror, he has since been on a number of TV shows.
As a host, his career includes ITV talk show Piers Morgan’s Life Stories and ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid.
He has been a judge on the television talent shows America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent.
Just last year, Morgan shared a rare glimpse inside his Sussex home as he spent the weekend in Newick.
He shared a picture of himself, son Stanley Morgan and his brother Rupert Pughe-Morgan sharing a pint down at The Royal Oak .
Piers also gave viewers a brief look inside his country home, shared photos and videos Instagram filmed his back garden in the sunshine.
