John, 87, and Anne Nugent, 81, were driven through Brighton and Hove on horse and carriage on Monday, having passed away recently.
The procession started at Saint Thomas More’s Catholic Church, Patcham as the couple were carried on horse and carriage to the Brighton Palace Pier, then to Lower Rock Gardens through to Upper Rock Gardens and finally to Brighton and Preston Cemetery in Bear Road.

The Argus understands that both died of natural causes around a week apart from each other.
According to their family it is the “only husband and wife traveller funeral in the history of Brighton”.
One of their children said in a speech at the funeral on Monday: “Today we have come together to honour the lives of our beloved mummy and daddy.
“John and Anne Nugent our king and queen.”
John was described as a “gentleman” who was “full of life” by his family, and as a man who loved a “laugh and a joke”.
The family remembered Anne as a “devoted wife and mother” with a “heart of gold”. She was described as loving animals, especially her little dog.
The funeral was directed by Paul Brown of A Wass and Harry Newington of H J Newington Funeral Directors
