Holy Mackerel, based at 32 High Street, Battle, has set up a new venture in Hastings Old Town.
The pop-up will be running from Dragon Bar at 71 George Street, serving up fish rolls, oysters, lobster mac n’ cheese, and mackerel wraps.
Holy Mackerel said: “We’ve pushed forward to a new pop-up in Hastings Old Town with our good friends Dragon Bar Hastings and Fagins, to bring you fresh fish rolls and oysters to go.
“We’ve also brought our local beers and ciders from Brewing Brothers Brewery and Nightingale Cider.
“Expect specials such as lobster mac n’ cheese, mackerel wraps and Bloody Mary oysters.
“We’ll be open every weekend through the summer with one-off evenings to be announced. Let’s go!”
The pop-up will be open every weekend throughout the summer.
This new venture comes after Holy Mackerel’s previous pop-up at Goat Ledge in St Leonards had to end prematurely.
Holy Mackerel expressed disappointment over this and said it was due to a “bureaucratic matter, which was in no way down to Goat Ledge.”
The team at Holy Mackerel extended their gratitude to Goat Ledge, saying: “It is with a heavy heart that, just as we were hitting our stride, we have had to put a pause on our operation at Goat Ledge.
“Thank you to you all for coming to enjoy our seafood and oyster offering.
“But most of all, thanks goes out to Esther, Will, Tom and their wonderful team, who welcomed us with open arms and made us part of the family.”
Holy Mackerel plans to resume their operation at Goat Ledge next summer.
Holy Mackerel later elaborated: “Goat Ledge are still there, still legends, still slinging exceptional fish and treats.
“We were a minor casualty of a bureaucratic matter which was in no way down to Goat Ledge.
“Unfortunately said matter can’t be resolved before the end of the season, and so we have had to put a pause in our operation there until next summer.”
