Last week, coastguard crews attended Eastbourne Pier after an area was discovered to be damaged.
On assessment, an area of the pier was cordoned off before pier management decided to close the pier fully.
The Argus contacted Eastbourne Pier at the time but received no response.
However this afternoon (August 4), the owners posted a statement on social media sharing that the pier was now open as usual.

On Wednesday (July 30), Eastbourne Coastguard shared on social media their call out.
It wrote: “Team tasked to Eastbourne pier yesterday to assess some damage reported by a member of the public.
“Once on scene, teams were deployed to locate and assess the damage safely, the area was cordoned off by our teams then shortly after the pier itself was closed by management.
“Once stood down we were then re-tasked elsewhere. No further details to follow.
“Busiest month recorded for us here at Eastbourne!”
