Defender Conor Masterson has enjoyed the positive pre-season energy at Gillingham under boss Gareth Ainsworth.
Masterson, who signed a new one-year contract in the close season, is raring to go after the Gills ended their summer warm-up with a 2-0 win at Dartford.

He said: “That was good for the boys, for the confidence, to get minutes in the legs again and obviously, great to win 2-0 and a clean sheet.
“It’s a really good group here. There are a lot of really nice people in there. We’re all enjoying being here.
“I think Gareth brings that as well and (assistant boss) Dobbo. Just two really good characters, really honest people.
“They just want to get the best out of us, and we’re really enjoying it.
“I’m raring to go. I’ve enjoyed pre-season. It’s good to be a Gills player again and enjoying it.”
The Gills start their League 2 campaign away at Accrington this Saturday.
“We just want to get into the season now,” he said.
“We have one week to go. It’s nice to get that (last pre-season) game in our legs and looking forward to build up to Accrington.
“We’ll get all the work done on the training pitch this week, get the last few notes from the gaffer and the last touches that he wants from us, and get us ready then fully focused for Accrington away.
“This is what we all live for and it’s our dreams to play.
“We want to just get going. We’re excited. We’re full of confidence. It’s a good squad. Really good people. We’re excited.”
