Sussex Police said the man, aged in his 20s, was involved in a single vehicle collision on the A272 Rocky Lane, near the junction with Cedar Avenue, Cuckfield, on Friday at around 10.20pm.
Emergency services attended but despite their best efforts the motorcyclist died at the scene.
His family has been informed, Sussex Police said.
Rocky Lane was closed from Virginia Drive to Bolnore village roundabout until just after 9am this morning for police enquiries.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the motorcycle being ridden prior to the collision, or captured CCTV or dash cam footage, to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Ninewest.
