Vastly-experienced batting all-rounder Joe Denly has described Kent’s first-ever T20 Vitality Blast double-header as a momentous occasion.
Denly intends to watch the game involving Kent Women – led by head coach James Hockley and captain Megan Belt – from 11am tomorrow before Sam Billings’ side also aim to get the better of their Middlesex counterparts to keep alive their own hopes of a top-four South Group finish.

The men’s match at The Spitfire Ground, Canterbury, will begin from 4pm, with fans able to use one ticket to watch both encounters.
“It’s going to be pretty special,” said 39-year-old Denly, who has spent the bulk of his illustrious 21-year career with Kent.
“We’ve seen a little bit of it at The Hundred and we’re really excited for that.
“I don’t think it has happened before so it’s going to be a great day.
“Hopefully, the weather is the same as it was on Friday. We will be here, supporting the girls.

“Hopefully, it makes for a really momentous occasion.”
Spitfires start the day sixth in the South group, only two points behind fourth-placed Glamorgan, but know they have no margin for error if they are to qualify for the knockout stages after Friday night’s five-wicket defeat against group leaders Somerset.
They will need to beat both Middlesex and surprise strugglers Essex, on Friday, having only won once at Canterbury in the Blast this summer.
Denly, who top scored for Kent with 40 against Somerset, said: “You go into every game, wanting to win.

“To give us the best chance – winning all three would have been ideal – and I don’t know yet mathematically where we stand. But of course, in the next two games, we’re going to be giving it our all.
“Hopefully, results can go our way, as well.”
