Irish singer CMAT – Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson – sparked a viral TikTok dance trend with her song “Take A Sexy Picture of Me” with stars like Lola Young, Julia Fox and Amelia Dimoldenberg joining in on the craze.
Dubbed the “Woke Macarena” the dance acts out the song’s lyrics about the ways young women transform themselves for male attention: “I did the butcher, I did the baker/I did the home and the family maker/I did schoolgirl fantasies … Now tell me what was in it for me?”, she sings.

The 29-year-old took to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on Friday and delighted audiences by acting out the dance while performing the hit.
The choreography behind the craze was originally devised by Sam Morris, a photographer, writer and content creator from Brighton.
In a TikTok video posted in May, Morris said it was his “apple dance TikTok choreographer moment” in reference to another dance craze inspired by the song Apple from Charli XCX’s album Brat.
Acknowledging Sam’s choreography on TikTok, CMAT said: “Love you so much this was such a very kind thing of you to do. I was at the club the other night and more than one person came up to me and silently did the dance.
“It was so fun and lovely! I feel like a very special girl thanks to you.”
Morris is known for his boudoir photography which has “emerged as a beacon of queer romanticism”.
In 2020, he published his debut book, Don’t Fall In Love, Sam and in 2024 published his memoir “Pieces Of A Boy”.
The TikToker has garnered a following of over 500k across his socials where he expresses himself through his “creative work, as well as storytelling, comedy skits, and dancing”.
