Maria Beal has been growing strawberries in her garden in Bexhill for two years.
The 60-year-old noticed a “funny looking” strawberry when she went to pick a batch to bring inside to ripen and was left giggling at the phallic-shaped fruit, which she has nicknamed Willie Winkie.

Ms Beal, an ambulance care assistant, said: “I just grow them in three pots with different types of strawberries in them and they’ve been huge every time.

“I knew it was getting deformed, but I had no idea it was going to grow that way. It absolutely made my day.”
Ms Beal said she had no plans to eat the strawberry and had even thought about selling it.
Maria said: “It’s still indoors at the moment. I will never eat, and I thought I’d sell it on eBay like the banana on the wall and I could get millions.”
