Rockwater, in Western Esplanade, is hosting a programme of events from June 21 to 29 in collaboration with Sussex vineyards Roebuck Estates and Tinwood Estate, celebrating the region’s growing reputation for high-quality wine production.
James Golding, celebrity chef director at Rockwater, said: “This collaboration represents everything we love about Sussex dining – exceptional local produce, innovative cuisine, and world-class wine.
“We’re showcasing how English wine has truly come of age.”
The events are designed to highlight the region’s finest wines alongside Rockwater’s coastal-inspired menus, offering guests a taste of the South Coast’s best food and drink.
The Rockwater Lodge will play host to a more relaxed experience on June 26 with the English Wine & Cheese Club.
Guests will be treated to a flight of four Roebuck Estate wines paired with British cheeses, including Somerset Brie with Blanc de Noirs and Cornish Yarg with classic Cuvée.
For Rockwater’s Open Water members, a special vineyard escape will take place on June 22 at Tinwood Estate.
The away day will include a vineyard tour, tastings of award-winning sparkling wines, and a three-course dinner in Tinwood’s private tasting room, set against the backdrop of the South Downs.
The collaboration also reflects Rockwater’s commitment to supporting local producers and celebrating the heritage of English winemaking.
Roebuck Estates, based in Petworth, is known for its elegant sparkling wines and sustainable practices, while Tinwood Estate is recognised for producing some of Sussex’s finest sparkling wines.
Julian Le Pévédic of Roebuck Estates said: “English Wine Week provides the perfect opportunity to showcase the incredible quality of Sussex wines.
“These intimate dining experiences allow people to truly appreciate the craft and character behind each bottle.”
The events come as English sparkling wine, particularly from Sussex, continues to gain international recognition and is increasingly seen as a rival to French Champagne.
The Wine & Cheese Club in Hove will be held on June 26 from 7pm to 9pm, costing £25 per person.
The Tinwood Estate Away Day is scheduled for June 22, with a departure time of 1.30pm.
This event is exclusive to Open Water members.
All events require advance booking and are expected to sell out quickly due to limited capacity.
Rockwater is known for its contemporary approach to coastal dining and commitment to championing local suppliers.
Under the direction of James Golding, the group has become a destination for food lovers seeking high-quality, innovative cuisine inspired by the South Coast.
