The incident took place outside Swanfield Park community centre in Swanfield Drive, Chichester, yesterday, June 19.
The teenager, a 19-year-old male from Selsey, was taken to hospital for treatment and released.
Three people, a 16-year-old boy, a 22-year-old man and a 56-year-old man, have been arrested for attempted grievous body harm, affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
Police are appealing for witnesses.

“The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and was released.
“A 16-year-old boy and two men, aged 22 and 56, have been arrested for attempted grievous body harm, affray and possession of an offensive weapon and are in custody.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call 101, quoting 1586 of 19/6.”
