A former children’s home manager has been convicted of historical abuse of a string of traumatised youngsters.
Edward Stanton preyed on a total of 10 victims including raping one girl.
Jurors heard how at least one boy tried to raise the alarm what was happening, but that the accusations were “brushed under the carpet”.
The abuse occurred at three different children’s homes in Lanarkshire.

‘You will pay a heavy price’: Pair used weapons to assault four strangers in Glasgow
A pair of knife thugs guilty of “gratuitous violence” on four strangers in less than two hours have been jailed for a total of 14 and a half years.
Declan Fulton, 27, and Brandon Paterson, 22, struck late at night in Glasgow city centre last July.
One man was left with a horror facial wound for not having cigarettes to give them.

Thug chewed off part of man’s nose after bus attack
A thug chewed off part of a man’s nose after attacking him on a bus.
Barry Little, 33, had initially been out walking his child in a pram when he met Craig Connor at a bus stop in Douglas, Lanarkshire last August 12.
The pair were known to each other and Little said: “Alright?”
Little then gave him a cigarette before appearing to head home.
But, he returned minutes later and stated to Mr Connor: “What’s happening?”

Four men jailed after £6m corruption and bribery probe at health boards
FOUR men convicted after a £6m corruption and bribery probe at health boards across Scotland have been jailed for a total of 29 years.
The group had been found guilty in April following investigations into the award of lucrative NHS contracts to an Ayrshire – based telecommunications firm.
Adam Sharoudi, 41, and Gavin Brown, 48, ran Oricom Ltd – a firm which effectively began from a garden shed before going on to secure major deals.
But, prosecutors said the contracts for the supply and maintenance of telecoms and video conferencing equipment broke rules on financial wrongdoing in the tendering process.

Serial sex attacker raped woman he met on Tinder
A SERIAL sex attacker faces extra jail-time for raping a woman he met on Tinder.
Rian Hood put the victim through a horror ordeal during a campaign of abuse at his hands.
The 34-year-old ex-clothes shop supervisor denied being physically or sexually violent – even claiming in a bizarre video clip that the woman had instead hurt him.
Hood was convicted of rape and engaging in a course of abusive behaviour following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
