A man has been taken to hospital following an accident on a major road.

Traffic was held on the A2 London-bound near the Darenth Interchange in Dartford but has since been released.

The M25 anticlockwise entry slip road has also reopened after a vehicle was recovered.

According to traffic monitoring website Inrix, there were long delays in the area, from the B255 Bean Lane at Bean Interchange to M25 J2 for the Darenth Interchange.

Police confirmed they were called at 10.39am to a single-vehicle collision on the tunnel-bound flyover, near junction two of the M25 anticlockwise.

“Officers attended the scene alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Kent Fire and Rescue Service,” a spokeswoman for the force said.

“A man in his 30s was taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.”

A fire service spokesperson added: “Three fire engines attended, and on arrival, everyone was out of the vehicle and crews made the scene safe while waiting for Highways and Kent Police.”

The ambulance service has been contacted for more information.
