An air ambulance has descended on a town centre after an incident believed to have involved a youngster.

One witness told KentOnline he saw paramedics attending to a young cyclist in Queen Street, Deal – at the junction with the High Street – although further details have not yet been confirmed.

An image shows both police and an ambulance at the scene with a fire engine also reportedly in attendance.

The road has also been cordoned off outside Iceland supermarket. The air ambulance also landed nearby but has since left.

Bus company Stagecoach said it was unable to serve passengers in parts of the town centre following the incident.

A statement released by the company said: “Due to an accident along Queen Street, Deal, we will be unable to serve Mill Road, London Road and Queen Street.

“Our services will still be serving South Street.

“We hope to go back to our normal line of route as soon as possible.”
