A kitten believed to be no older than 10 months old has been found dumped and “screaming” by a busy roadside.
The abandoned feline was discovered by Bluebell Hill towards Maidstone after breaking out of the carrier she had been left in.

Wisteria Cat Rescue boss Billy Devitt, who saved her, said they were first alerted to the neglected pet after being tipped off by a member of the public who had been walking their dog and made the discovery.
Billy had been at home, just a five-minute drive away, and so he headed down to check the area.
He told KentOnline: “I just parked the van up and I could see the carrier but couldn’t see the cat.
“I knelt down and dropped some treats and calling for her, and then all of a sudden she was screaming her little heart out.
“She came out, but as she did, she was very wary of me and I managed to safely get her and put her into one of the cat rescue baskets.”

The cat is not chipped and had been starving. A baby’s blanket was also found in her carrier.
Speaking on the dumping, Billy added: “It’s disgusting really – it’s just ridiculous.”
The poor kitten is in a seven-day stray-hold in case her owner wants to come forward before the rescue team has her neutered, vaccinated and ready to be rehomed.
Wisteria Cat Rescue, an animal charity based in Rochester, is also raising funds to go towards her care as well as other cats, and to continue to act quickly in similar emergencies.

Billy added: “I just hope people learn from this – it’s not the right thing to do.”
