Karl Hibberd, 23, of Whiteloft Way, Southwick, was committed to prison for six weeks after admitting to breaching the community requirements of a suspended sentence order (SSO) by failing to attend unpaid work appointments on February 17, February 24, and March 25, 2025. The SSO was originally imposed for the offence of assaulting and causing actual bodily harm to a woman at Shoreham railway station on August 14, 2022. The court found that this was Hibberd’s fourth breach of the SSO, and noted that Hibberd was told on the three previous occasions what could happen if he failed to comply with the SSO. The court added that Hibberd “has wilfully and persistently breached” the SSO.

Ryan Seamons, 21, of Peace Close, Brighton, was fined £500, ordered to pay £85 in court costs after admitting to breaching the community requirements of a suspended sentence order by failing to attend unpaid work appointments on March 2 and March 16, 2025. Imprisonment was deemed not appropriate, as Seamons is in employment, which is considered a “protective factor to prevent reoffending”. The suspended sentence order continues.

David John Adams, 47, of New Steine Mews, Brighton, was fined £50 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs after admitting to breaching the community requirements of a suspended sentence order by failing to attend office appointments on March 18 and March 25, 2025. Imprisonment was deemed not appropriate, owing to this instance being Adams’ first breach, and due to Adams’ poor health.

Mark Anscombe, 40, of Ingram Crescent, Hove, was fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs after admitting to breaching a community order by failing to attend unpaid work appointments on March 26 and April 2, 2025. The unpaid work requirement of the community order was removed, but Anscombe must continue with the programme and rehabilitation activity requirements.

Aaron Boyle, 26, of Adelaide Square, Shoreham, was fined £660, ordered to pay a £264 victim surcharge and £110 in costs, and disqualified from driving for two years, for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a BMW 116 Sport on September 25, 2024, at Durrington. The verdict was proved in Boyle’s absence. The disqualification was obligatory due to repeat offending.

Abayomi Peter Ayodele, 52, of Farm Close, East Grinstead, was fined £660, ordered to pay a £264 victim surcharge and £90 in costs, and given six penalty points, for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a Nissan on June 28, 2024, at Shoreham. The verdict was proved in Ayodele’s absence.
