TAUK (The Agency UK) has today announced a further acquisition to deepen its national footprint.
Hot on the heels of the acquisition of The Estate Agency last month, TAUK has acquired Cardiff-based Isla Alexander business for an undisclosed sum, with sales director Sarah Walters remaining with the combined business.
This transaction takes the TAUK partner agent count to more than 200, which the company says propels them to the number two self-employed platform in the UK, second only to eXp UK.
Andy Vass, CEO of TAUK, said: “This latest acquisition propels TAUK to one of the top two self-employed platforms in the UK. It will soon be followed by others as part of our ‘buy to build’ strategy.
“Our intention is unequivocally to become the number one self-employed platform and to do so by not only purchasing competitor businesses but to provide an unrivalled agent offering, the best financial proposition, fantastic support and the backing of a brand that is now the fastest growing in the sector.”
Steph Walker, co-founder at TAUK, commented: “Just like we saw consolidation in the portal space in the early 2000’s, we’re now seeing the same in personal agency — and TAUK is leading that charge. This isn’t random growth. It’s strategic, considered, and built on shared values.
“Sarah Walters is a standout talent — a brilliant operator and a natural and I cannot wait to be in partnership with her and Ross”.

Kenny Bruce, board director and investor at TAUK, added: “This journey is becoming interesting and I and the team here have undoubtedly backed the right horse in striving to dominate the fast-growing self-employed estate agency sector.
“I know it’s a cliché but do watch this space. We are serious about our number one ambitions and we’re demonstrating that with this further acquisition – two within a month of each other”.
Reflectig on the decision to merge with TAUK, Ross McKenzie, founder of Isla Alexander, said: “With the right support, systems, and leadership around them, this move gives our estate agency director, Sarah [Walters], and her team the platform they deserve to set them up for a big future together with TAUK.”
Walters added: “We will continue to grow organically through being great agents and receiving recommendations accordingly but I am especially excited about the expansion that we will know be a part of being within such a well-resourced and strategic TAUK team in Steph, Andy and Kenny”.
