Police uncovered a huge cannabis factory operation on a quiet Welsh street on Thursday, April 24. Officers for South Wales Police said they attended Caroline Street in Blaengwynfi where they discovered the class B drugs growing inside four rooms of the property.

A statement from South Wales Police read: “Officers conducted a positive drugs warrant at an address on Caroline Street, Blaengwynfi, Neath Port Talbot today.
“Four cannabis grow rooms in total were found within the property. All plants have been seized.
“No individuals were present in the property at the time of the search.”
On its website, South Wales Police said it was illegal to possess, supply, or produce cannabis.
It said consequences could include arrest and prosecution, up to five years in prison for possession and up to 14 years in prison for supply.
There can also be unlimited fines, and out of court action which can affect your travel, visa applications vetting for university placements, training or employment.
It adds: “Smoking cannabis in your own home is illegal.
“Possessing medical use cannabis products is also illegal, unless these have been prescribed for you.
The smell of cannabis can be concerning for neighbours and the local community.
“The police and their partners have powers and tools available to take enforcement action to deal with anti-social behaviour.
“If you are a social housing tenant, private renting tenant or in student accommodation, your landlord (or university) may be contacted and may decide to take enforcement action against your tenancy (and university placement).”
