A planning application to replace the existing roof at the Pivot Community Facility in Moodiesburn has been submitted to North Lanarkshire Council (NLC).
According to documents put forward by the local authority, this would be replaced with a new pitched roof.
A decision is expected to be made by June 15.

It comes after the presence of reinforced autoclaved concrete (RAAC) was discovered in the roof of the Glenmanor Avenue facility.
RAAC is weaker than conventional concrete and is at risk of collapse, especially when it becomes wet.
In February, councillor Greg Lennon, who represents the area, stated that work to repair the roof is expected to begin in October.
He added that this will cost around £3.5 million in total and is anticipated to be completed by Christmas 2026.

A statement published to Cllr Lennon’s Facebook page reads: “After committee approval in December 2024, I can confirm that the centre roof will be repaired at a cost of £3.5 million (nearer four).
“Works are expected to commence in October 2025 and be completed by Christmas 2026 (tentatively).
“I appreciate that the timescale for this will not be what groups and users had expected but at least we have a definitive date now.
“I did ask for the £3.5 million to go towards a new build facility, unfortunately this was rejected.”
