Sussex Police said on April 13, a woman in her 30s reported to officers in Hastings that she had been raped the night before by a man who followed her into her home address after driving her home.
She was supported by specialist officers and a suspect was identified and arrested the same day.
Abdulhamid Alammar, 34, of Muriel Way in St Leonards, was subsequently arrested and charged with rape and sexual assault by penetration.

He has also been charged with a count of sexual assault by touching in relation to a separate report made by another victim in 2023.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before a court, to be confirmed, on May 13.
Detective Inspector Carol Shoesmith, of East Sussex Safeguarding Investigation Unit, said: “We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure all victims of rape and sexual assault are supported and receive the justice they deserve.
