Firefighters rushed to the scene of the collision on Burns Statue Square in the Ayrshire town shortly after 4pm on Wednesday, April 16.

Three fire appliances and specialist resources were sent to the area.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed that one child was taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and an adult was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for the SFRS said: “We were alerted at 4.11pm on Wednesday, April 16, to reports of a road traffic collision involving four cars at Burns Statue Square, Ayr.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene.

“Two casualties, including one child, were taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Crews left the scene at 5.07pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
