The incident happened as the victim was travelling on the 480 bus between Gravesend and Dartford on Tuesday, February 25 2025.
It is alleged a man the woman did not know touched her over her clothing and made lewd comments before getting off the bus in Dartford High Street.
The suspect is described as white, in his early to mid-40s, with short dark hair and thick eyebrows.
Police say he spoke in a foreign accent and was wearing a dark raincoat and blue jeans.
He was also carrying a rucksack and a can of beer in his hand, as well a plastic carrier bag containing further cans.
The investigation continues as officers review CCTV footage from the bus route.
They are now appealing for any witnesses who have not spoken to the police and anyone who recognises the description of the suspect to contact them.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Investigators are appealing for information after a woman reported she was sexually assaulted on a bus in north Kent.
“The incident happened as the victim was travelling on the 480 bus service between Gravesend and Dartford at around 5pm on Tuesday 25 February 2025.
“It is alleged a man the woman did not know touched her over her clothing and made lewd comments before getting off the vehicle in Dartford High Street.
“The suspect is described as being white, in his early to mid-40s, with short dark hair and thick eyebrows.
“He spoke in a foreign accent and was wearing a dark raincoat and blue jeans.
“He was also carrying a rucksack and a can of beer in his hand, as well a plastic carrier bag containing further cans.
“Officers have been completing enquiries into the incident including the examination of CCTV footage on the bus route.
“They are now appealing for any witnesses who have not spoken to the police and anyone who recognises the description of the suspect to contact them.
