An estate agent from Cheshire has completed another trip to Ukraine, having travelled to the war-torn country several times to take food to people in need.

Gary Fear, who works in Nantwich, says he has raised more than £100,000 for the venture since 2022, with his next trip taking place next month.

A concert raising funds for his project will take place at Nantwich Civic Hall on 3 May. The event, entitled Resilient Ukraine, will be hosted by author and former BBC newsreader Diana Mather.

“This war is now in its fourth year and some people are living in desperate situations,” Fear told the press. “There is food in the shops but some people just don’t have the money to buy it for themselves and their families.”

Fear says he has raised more than £100,000 since 2022 to help people in Ukraine.

“I will endeavour to raise more funds for as long as this war continues,” he added.

The concert is being organised by the North Wales and North West England Rotary Passport Club and supported by Nantwich Town Council.

It will bring together Ukrainian communities from various parts of the North West of England, including The Orlyk Ukrainian Dancers, Manchester’s Czervoni Maky choir, the Ukrainian Voice and Children Sing choirs from Liverpool, as well as professional singers from Ukraine.
