Bidwells has launched a dedicated land and development department, enhancing the firm’s existingresidential development service offering and expanding further into the provision of development management and professional services within the Living sector.
Building on the back of Bidwells’ residential development department, and led by Bidwells Partners Mark Buddle and Neil Kelly, the team will offer a comprehensive suite of services, with a continued focus on greenfield development and strategic land and a fresh approach to development management and mixed-use opportunities.
In addition to agency and strategic development advice, the team will provide guidance from site identification through to development viability, implementation and exit strategies.
Bidwells says that the decision to expand the specialised team has been informed by increased client and market demand, extending beyond traditional agency roles to capitalise on shifting market dynamics and emerging trends.
The department will seek to capture the opportunity in the diversification of large-scale development projects, with growing demand for Build-to-Rent, retirement living, and mixed-use schemes alongside private and affordable housing. Enhancing its development management consultancy expertise and strengthening its professional services team will enable Bidwells to equip clients to navigate the changing landscape effectively.
The formation of the land and development department is in line with the company’s commitment to double the size of its business by 2030, which also encompasses significant investment across the company and a major recruitment drive. It will continue to further diversify Bidwells’ presence in England and Scotland and beyond its Oxford-Cambridge growth corridor stronghold.
Mark Buddle, Partner and Head of the Land & Development Department at Bidwells, said: “The launch of our dedicated Land & Development department marks a significant step in Bidwells’ growth strategy. By expanding our expertise beyond residential development into the wider Living sector, we are enhancing our ability to provide comprehensive, market-leading advice to landowners, investors, and developers. This move enables us to better support our clients in navigating the evolving demands of the UK real estate market while maximising the long-term and sustainable value of their schemes. ”
Neil Kelly, partner and head of the land and development department at Bidwells, added: “Our team is able to provide strategic guidance across all stages of the development lifecycle, from bespoke site identification and acquisition services, to feasibility and options analysis, through to development and implementation strategies, ensuring our clients are best positioned to capitalise on market opportunities.”
