In some areas, the new regulations put an end to ‘happy hours’ in bars, The Scottish Sun reported.
Some holiday hotspots also banned the purchase of alcohol between 9pm and 8am.
Breaching these rules could see tourists fined up to £1,300.

The laws affect popular destinations such as Mallorca (Llucmajor, Palma) and Calvia (Magaluf), as well as San Antonio in Ibiza.
While visitors can still drink in licensed premises, they are not allowed to walk down the street drinking in these areas.
These laws came into effect in 2020 but were toughened last year, meaning holidaymakers will be this summer.
Rules will impact resorts and party boats as well.
