The incident happened on Carntyne Road, Glasgow, at around 8.45pm on Saturday, March 22.

The crash prompted the closure of the road between Glencorse Street and Mayfield Street.
The closure was in place from around 9pm and reopened at around 3.05am.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergency services attended, and the 57-year-old male pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment.
“His injuries are described as serious.
“The driver of the car was uninjured.
“The road was closed while emergency services were in attendance and re-opened around 3.05am on Sunday, March 23, 2025.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
