The A259 Marina in St Leonards has been closed for over 24 hours following the discovery of explosive chemicals that posed a threat to life yesterday, March 20.
In the early hours of this morning, Sussex Police declared a major incident as emergency services worked to make the scene safe.
Homes were evacuated and a cordon was put in place.
Sussex Police has now said that items recovered by the bomb disposal team have been “made safe”.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “The major incident in St Leonards continues.
“Items recovered by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team have now been made safe within the property.

“Searches in the property are continuing tonight and will carry on into tomorrow.
“The cordon and road closures will remain in effect.
“We would like to thank the public for their continued patience and support regarding this incident, but we also urge people to avoid the area to help minimise traffic disruption.
“Residents will be updated as soon as possible.”
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of producing illegal substances and making an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose.
Sussex Police confirmed this afternoon that the incident is currently not believed to be terror-related.
