Former Gillingham players Scott Lindsey and Neil Smith have joined forces at League 1 Crawley.
It’s a swift return for Lindsey, who left Crawley in September to join MK Dons but was axed there earlier this month after a poor run of results.

Lindsey, who had worked with former Welling boss Jamie Day as his no.2 at both Crawley and MK Dons, has named Smith as his assistant manager.
Smith has left his position as manager of Cray Wanderers, who he guided to mid-table safety in Isthmian Premier during their first season at their impressive new Flamingo Park home. He’d been in charge of Cray for three years.
Cray Wanderers chairman Gary Hillman said: “Following discussions late last night with Crawley Town, I can confirm that Neil Smith has been released to join the management team there.
“Cray Wanderers would like to thank Neil for everything he has done for the club and wish him all the best in the EFL.”
Smith’s assistant at Cray Wanderers, Tim O’Shea, has agreed to manage the team for the remainder of the campaign.

Lindsey, who has been linked with the Gillingham job in recent seasons, has agreed a deal with Crawley until the summer of 2028.
He guided the club to promotion via the play-offs at the end of last season but they look destined for an immediate relegation, sitting 12 points from safety with just nine games left to play.
Crawley chairman Preston Johnson said: “We are very excited to welcome Scott back to Crawley Town.
“We all love the culture and commitment he brings to the club and the game.
“We’re striving for success at the highest levels of English football and to strengthen relationships with our fans and the broader community.
“Our lead investors are committed to a long-term vision, and Scott Lindsey is essential to that.”
