All About Barrhead Business Improvement District (BID) has announced that it will host the “landmark occasion” on Saturday, July 19 in the town.
The event will offer a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and contribute to the local economy.
The young traders market will take place from 11am to 4pm at The Centre in Cochrane Street, while the Big Bounce, which is free to attend, will be on at the same time at Centenary Park.
Jenny Dunlop, BID manager, said “The young traders market is a fantastic way to support the next generation of entrepreneurs while bringing fresh energy and innovation to Barrhead.
“We’re incredibly proud to be the first town in Scotland to host this event and can’t wait to see what our local young traders bring to the competition.”
The Young Traders Market initiative, spearheaded by the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF), includes local markets, regional finals, and a national final.
The market in Barrhead will feature an array of stalls, including arts and crafts, food and drink, and general retail, all managed by young traders aged 16 to 30.
Additionally, aspiring entrepreneurs aged 11 to 15 are welcome to participate with the supervision of a guardian.
Joe Harrison NMTF’s Chief Executive said: “We are thrilled that we are bringing the YTM Campaign to Scotland this year and also that Barrhead is the first town off the mark in joining in the campaign.
“We feel Scotland will equally have the same amount of truly talented 16 to 30-year-olds as there are in the rest of the UK to bring energy and enthusiasm to the town and city high streets north of the border.”
