Michael O’Callaghan, 26, appeared in court yesterday (March 13) charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, robbery and possession of a bladed article.
Kent Police was called around 5.45am on Sunday (March 9) to reports that a man had stabbed in Dartford.
The victim was approached by two off-duty police officers in Cotton Lane and told them that he had been driving his van with a second man as a passenger.
He said that the passenger had made demands before assaulting the driver.
The passenger then reportedly drove away in the driver’s van with the driver’s mobile phone.
The police arrived and the victim was taken to a hospital in London for treatment and later discharged.
O’Callaghan, of Albert Place, Rochester, was arrested on Tuesday (March 11) in James Road, Sevenoaks and charged with the three offences the next day.
A second woman arrested that day in Sundridge, Sevenoaks, on suspicion of assisting an offender was later bailed pending further enquiries.
O’Callaghan is due in Maidstone Crown Court today (March 14) having been held in custody.
