An extensive search of a river has concluded after earlier reports a body had been spotted in the water.
Police, fire, ambulance and the coastguard searched a stretch of the River Medway at 2.22pm yesterday (March 17).

Shortly after, a convoy of emergency vehicles swept into the Rochester Riverside development.
Now, the coastguard has revealed that teams located the object – a log.
A spokesman said: “Coastguard Rescue Teams from Medway and Sheppey were called, alongside Sheerness Inshore Lifeboat, Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
“Coastguards located the object, identified as a log, and recovered it to Sun Pier for disposal.”
During the search efforts Lifeboat and Coastguard vessels were spotted going up and down a section of the river opposite Medway City Estate.

A Coastguard spokesperson said at the time: “We were made aware of an object in waters at the River Medway near Rats Bay.”
However, shortly before 4pm the crews left the scene – only the Coastguard boat remained – and headed to Riverside Gardens in Chatham near the library and Command House pub.
A drone was also used to scan the area.
Crews from the fire service also attended with two fire engines along with a water safety unit team but left the scene shortly after 5pm.
The incident comes just a week after a man’s body was found nearby, close to the Boat House pub in Strood.
