A primary school has issued a stranger danger warning following reports students were being approached by an older man on their way home.
Riverview Junior School, in Gravesend, sent out the letter to parents and carers on Friday (March 14).

It said: “I wanted to let our community know that we have been made aware that an older, unknown male has been approaching young people in the area after school.
“Please be aware that the police are aware and are working to identify this person.
“As a school, we have taken this extremely seriously as the safety of our pupils is paramount.
“We are working with the police and any families that have been affected.
“We will also be revisiting Stranger Danger with our pupils and reminding our older pupils who walk home to be vigilant.
“I would urge all parents and careers to also revisit with their children how to stay safe, especially those who walk home.”
A spokesperson for the school, in Cimba Wood, confirmed it reported the incident to the relevant authorities once it became aware of it and the police are investigating the issue.
They added: “We take matters like these extremely seriously, as the safety of our pupils is paramount.
“As a precautionary measure, we have written to parents to make them aware, and are taking steps to educate our pupils on staying safe both inside and outside of school, in line with our robust safeguarding policies.”
