Earlier this week, Nathan Jones revealed a list of “sacrifices” that he expects from his Charlton players and their families.
The manager explained in a post-match interview following victory over Crawley town last Tuesday (March 11) how he expects complete commitment from them for the next two months.
The 51-year-old said: “Going into eight weeks of your life now, where you sacrifice everything.
“You’re not shopping tomorrow. Not bowling. Your diet’s good.
“If your wife or your girlfriend wants to go shopping, wants to do that, they have to make the sacrifices.
“It’s a massive sacrifice for us — to achieve something — because you can’t now go to Bluewater, walking around high-fiving and going to Costa Coffee when you should be resting.”
Bluewater appeared to take Charlton’s comments in good humour.

In response to his remarks, Bluewater shared a playful video on X (formerly Twitter) featuring two security guards patrolling the centre.
They were filmed holding up pictures of Charlton players’ faces and pretending to be on the lookout for anyone breaking the manager’s rules.
The video was captioned: “Nathan Jones, don’t worry — we’ve got your back.”
In the video, one of the guards say: “Okay, so if you see any of these lot, especially Gilbert, let the gaffer know on the radio.”
While patrolling the shopping centre, the security team announces: “Central entrance: Clear. Sweet shop: Clear. Costa Coffee: Clear. Park right entrance: Clear.”
