It is alleged the Reform councillor has been reported over a possible hate crime in the video when he suggests foreign nationals should be deported if found to be stalking women in Glasgow.
Kerr, a Reform UK councillor for Shettleston, said in the post he was “absolutely fizzing” about an article he had read about women being scared to be out in Glasgow city centre.
He said there are “so many women in this Country who are scared” and said he is “petrified” when either his younger sister or fiancée is out in Glasgow City centre.
He then said: “Let me be very, very clear, any foreign national or immigrant or asylum seeker who stalks, abuses or physically puts a woman in scared of their safety should be kicked out of this country.
“No ifs, no buts. Final and that’s it.”
Kerr left the Scottish Conservatives earlier this year to join the Reform UK Party, led by Nigel Farage.
The comments were branded “dangerous” by the councillor whose remit covers housing for refugees who are homeless.
SNP Councillor, Allan Casey, said: “Thomas Kerr’s comments are exactly the type of language that fuelled riots across the rest of the UK just months ago.
“They are dangerous, stupid and potentially put the safety of thousands of people across Glasgow at risk.
“Rightly, the people who were found to instigate those riots went to jail.
“Councillor Kerr should reflect on what impact his actions could have.”
When contacted by the Glasgow Times, Kerr said he was “shocked” that he had been reported to the police and was not aware of the report.
Kerr said: “I’ve not been made aware of any complaint to Police Scotland, but this sounds like a total waste of Police time, money and resources.
“I’ll never apologise for standing up for women’s safety and saying what needs to be said for the people of my city.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson, said: “We have received information which is currently being assessed.”
