Discount retailer B&M is set to take over a former Homebase store.
The site on Horsted Retail Park, Chatham, closed its doors for the final time on February 22 after the DIY and garden firm fell into administration in November.
Now, B&M has submitted a premises licence application to Medway Council.
A notice posted at the site states it is for the sale of alcohol between the hours of 7am and 11pm, seven days a week.
Previously, the Homebase brand and up to 71 stores were snapped up by The Range and Wilko owner CDS Superstores for £25.6 million, securing the future of 1,600 jobs.
One of those stores was the former Homebase on Sittingbourne Retail Park, which is set to become The Range.
Elsewhere, Homebase stores in Broadstairs, Chatham, Folkestone, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells all hit the market in November last year following the chain’s collapse.
Also up for sale was the site in Herne Bay, which remained open until last month when staff pulled down the shutters for the final time.
The closure leaves yet another unit at Eddington Business Park vacant.
Halfords closed in September 2019 when it moved to Whitstable, with a move for B&M to fill the site abandoned in 2021 despite receiving approval from Canterbury City Council.
A further five stores were acquired by rival retailer B&Q for £2.5 million in January.
B&M previously profited from the collapse of discount retailer Wilko, claiming three of their former units in Maidstone, Gillingham and Rainham.
B&M has been contacted for comment.
