Police, Fire and Rescue, Helicopter Emergency Medical Service, RNLI, the coastguard and the ambulance service were called to East Pier in Littlehampton at 6.05 this morning for what a passer-by described as a “rescue operation”.
The passer-by said it looked like a female was being rescued.
Emergency services confirmed they attended but did not confirm any further details.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “We can confirm police were called at around 6.05am and assisted the emergency services response.
“There’s nothing further to report from a policing side.”
