The 55-year-old was found dead at a property in Monar Street in the city around 9.20am on Wednesday morning.
Officers had been called to the scene and found the 55-year-old and launched an inquiry.
They have now arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the death.
A short statement from Police Scotland said: “A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of James Jarvis in Monar Street, Glasgow.
“Officers attended at the address around 9.20am on Wednesday, 5 March, and found the 55-year-old deceased. Enquiries are continuing.”
