Amen Teklay tragically died after being found seriously injured on Clarendon Street in Maryhill on Wednesday, March 5.

Police and ambulance crews responded to the area at around 10.30pm however the 15-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kind have since been made aware.
Amen was a pupil at St Thomas Aquinas Secondary in Jordanhill.
Claire McInally, headteacher at the Mitre Road school, described the youngster as “bright” and showing “great promise”.

In a statement, she said: “This is a tragic situation. Our thoughts and prayers are with Amen’s family and friends at this devastating time.
“Amen was a friendly and much loved young man who was really interested in music and the media. He was bright and showed great promise.
“This has been a shock for our school community, and we are continuing to offer support to our young people, staff and those in the wider community who are affected.”
We previously reported that flowers had been placed on Clarendon Street to pay tribute to the teenager.

Bouquets were laid near the start of the police cordon.
A note attached to one of the floral tributes reads: “Look at the stars, see how they shine for you. Rest in peace, son.”

Heartfelt tributes were also posted to social media following Amen’s passing.
One person said: “Heartbreaking. Praying for his family. No parent should have to experience this kind of loss.”
Another added: “So sad. A young boy with his whole life ahead of him – what a world we live in.
“My thoughts are with his family and friends.”
A third commented: “Absolutely horrific. May he rest in peace.”

On Friday, detectives revealed the death is now being treated as murder following a post-mortem examination.
A major investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding it.
Police Scotland has set up a website to give members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the Major Investigation Team, which can be submitted anonymously.
