The shopkeeper remained tight-lipped about the incident today as workers were seen starting repairs at the store.
It would appear that the driver reversed their car into Lifestyle Express on Tower Drive.
Police have confirmed they are hunting for the occupants of the vehicle.
One resident said: ‘A car drove into the shop’ but refused to say any more about the incident.
Our sister title The Greenock Telegraph has seen video footage and pictures of the immediate aftermath of the incident which show the car protruding from the front of the shop, partially sitting across the pavement.

The frontage of the shop was destroyed and this afternoon a bricklayer was seen rebuilding the wall.
The shop was closed to customers today (Thursday).
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 12.25am on Thursday, February 27 we received a report of a car driven into the outside of a shop on Tower Drive, Gourock.
“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the occupants of the vehicle.
“Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident number 0050 of February 27, 2025.”
